Happy Rajab 1430H
|
|
The month of Rajab is the beginning of the spiritual renewal which culminates with the month of Ramadhan with eidul Fitr.
According to one hadith, The Prophet Muhamamad SAW said that the month of Rajab is Allah's month, the month of Syaaban is his month and the month of Ramadhan is his ummah's.
The first few days of fasting in the month of Ramadhan are usually tiring but if you have been fasting on and off during Rajab and Syaaban, then Ramadhan would be no feat at all.
It is recommended to fast for a few days in Rajab and do extra charity...
On that note, I remember my grandmother used to remind us to come home early, take a bath, put on our best clothes and perform the solatul maghrib and Isya' together then she would give each of us a presents. Her presents were usually pieces of clothes to be made into dress for Eid latter and I would have extras. the extras were crayons and colouring books or toys.
She said that it was her way of gift giving thus charity for the close family during Rajab. And it was sort of put us in a ready state for more spiritual positioning by extra nawafil prayers, saum or sadakah through out the month.
Then on 15th of Syaaban, the neighbours would gather at our house for congregational prayers of Mahrib and Isya and some food... Between Magrib and Isya', we would all sit and recite Qur'an...
Happy Rajab! Selamat Berpuasa Rajab!
Went for a picnic last night but only to be chased away by the rain...
baked a lemon cake...
