An Extra Special Bride and Groom

Now, it's Jr story!

As soon as he got out of the car, he ran to the back of the house and saw a ladder by the coconut tree. Well, before anyone can do anything, he was up there already!

The view was so inviting as it was during high tide and the water level is almost reaching higher ground.

Jr wanted to get onto the boat but relented after I promised that he would get on it but after we had our lunch. Thus after lunch, he went down alone and tried to get onto the boat. I had to rush eating lunch! Pity me since I had the appetite and the dishes were delicious! Jr had his wish.... Widad and Khayri wanted to get on the boat too!

Their house is flood prone area so the house is 14 feet above ground. I wish I had a photo to show how tall the house really is! A lorry can go under the house!

Steam Cockles - Kerang Rebus

View all 6 photos...
Cockles used to be hard to come by.
Even if we found it at the wet market, it wasn't fresh or/and smaller in size.

Now, I can always buy cheaper, bigger and fresher morsels at Mydin. Not that I'm promoting 'Abang Mydin' but this is one of the benefit of having a giant retailer in your town.

I love it but have to eat em sparingly.

Ibu has to eat em to help increase blood count. So says ???

Kerang Rebus Resepi Ibu
1. Knead gently the morsels with coarse sea-salt in a bowl.
(This helps to get rid of sand, mud, or other impurities from the shell)

2. Wash them and discard the water.

3. Pour into a pot.

4. Add about half a cup of water.

5. Turn on the stove.

6. Add slices of garlic, ginger, shallot, lemon grass and a pinch of salt to taste.

6. Cover the pot and heat it on a low heat until the steam is let out.
(about 2-3 minutes)

7. Open the cover and stir a bit.

8. Turn off the stove.

9. Serve em on a platter! yummy!

NOTE: Cockles or Kerang as we know them is another variety of shellfish comes in different colours. Some have dark shells while others have fairer shells... (macam manusia jugak!)... I rarely eat clams or tiram but as a kid, I did sample some siput sedut masak lemak pucuk paku... mmm...yummy! but I haven't have any siput sedut for decades. The same goes for etak-etak... (Pasar Siti Khadijah KB is known for etak-etak salai for which I never forget to buy some whenever I found my self there!)

The breaking news...

Referring to this piece of news, I think my dad would really welcome this news.

Religious officers to be free from party politics - Raja Nazrin
BERNAMA

IPOH, WED:

The Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah wants all religious officers to be free from party politics or influence from political leaders in discharging their responsibilities in managing Islamic affairs.
“The Islamic religion should not be allowed to be politicised,” he said at a gathering with Territorial Chiefs and district religious administrative officers in the state at `Kompleks Islam’, here today.

Raja Nazrin pointed out that the mosques and surau should not be used as a platform to hold political functions but should instead become an instrument in uniting the ummah.

He said the Territorial Chiefs were representatives of the Sultan of Perak in their respective districts and should play a role as the `eyes and ears’ of the Sultan in monitoring Islamic religious activities in their respective areas.

Raja Nazrin said he was compelled to remind them that the Federal Constitution had emplaced the Sultan as the Head of the Religion in the state.
“The Ruler has absolute power in Islamic religious affairs. The Ruler is above party politics, independent and neutral,” the Raja Muda added.

A Really Welcome News Indeed!

CeritaKu CeritaMu

Cerita no 1

Ada seorang kakak - kakak ipar tu - kawin anak padri kristian yang masuk islam sebab nak kawin - anak 4 orang, 3 lelaki 1 pompuan: Yang tu masuk islam sebab nak tarik melayu masuk kristian tapi tak berjaya so dia beralih kat anak-anak plak. Dah dekat 4o tahun berlalu, anak semua dah kawin dan beranak pinak. Yang tua dah 3 kali kawin, dua lepas bakal isteri dah hamil, tapi jarang sekali bersolat atau berpuasa, buat depan emak ajer... yang kedua kawin anak pompuan cina campur india ikut undang-undang sivil, tapi gomen wat donno jer... takut kena bukak pandora's box kot! Itu yang depa nak sebenarnya! Yang ketiga buat hati emak sejuk sikit kawin anak campuran cina melayu dan empat tu pompuan kawin mat saleh. Suami isteri tidur bilik lain-lain sebab suami balik malam mauk-mabuk.

Cerita No 2

saya ada seorang cousin kawin benggali masuk islam sebab nak kawin gak. Tapi lepas 2 tahun ikut kelas agama dia rasa diri dia bukan diri sebenar lagi... cultural shocked gitu... so, dia mula ikut kawan minum sampai mabuk-mabuk... nasib baik ler tak lama... beberapa bulan ajer... dia pun lay low, tak nak di paksa... rasa nak pi kelas agama dia gi, tak nak pergi dia tak pergi... beberapa tahun berlalu... solat skali skala bila terasa nak buat tapi posa rajin... lama-lama dia dok terpikir pasal hidup dan terbaca buku-buku agama cerita orang convert... maryam jamila ler etc... and dia rasa inspired... bertahun dia baca buku, mula pakai songkok, anak-anak dah besar, solat tak tiggal lagi... pergi buat haji dan dah pencen pun... .. sejuk hati... alhamdulillah! satu success story... dia happy!

Cerita no 3

Ada seorang adik yang berasa amat malu lahir anak melayu kerana belajar universiti swasta, lecturer dia dok kutuk hak istimewa orang melayu dan DEB ajer...

Cerita no 4

Which one is my own story?

Poor Najib

1. Just taking a glimpse through the net for the latest news.

2. Feel sorry for Najib: 1st RPK's SD and now DSAI case also being pointed to him. I don't believe that DSAI is sodomite 10 years ago than it is today. I don't belief either that Najib is involved in the murder of the Mogolian woman. I have reserved feelings in regards to his wife though as I still remember the after thoughts I had after an encounter with her years ago..."Better not be her close associate for any possible gain I might get or even be associated with her" after she said that she will not let anyone stand on the way of what she dreams off..... I don't know if today she is the same Rose I met... everything changes and people change too! as a song goes... every rose has it's thorn!

3. The Force that is without the general is implementing the plan that the general laid out before he went six feet under. or, Is there a new general now?

4. When can the elected government goes on in governing when even 3 months after the election, we are still at pre-election siege?

5. How will the elected government deal with global challenges when internal bickering is at full force?

6. Oh! well! the malay muslim goverment will get the blame when the force with vested interest is out with their game plan. The chess board is on the table... lets the game begin!

8. politics = poly (many) -->> ticks (blood sucking insects)

9. Allah is Great! May Allah helps us all through the tough time ahead! ameen!

PS: I think anwar and Najib should call it a truce and joint forces to lead ... I also cannot shake off the idea that the latest anwar spotlight is carefully planned and executed by the foxes who keep following him and are close enough to him to whisper that it was najib's doing... 1st get a young foal, get him to cooperate with enough incentive, (that lad had to go to many police station to file the report until he found one that would take his report upon learning the person he is accusing) once the report is made, the motion is set... get in the threat on anwar's life and get him to go to foreign consulate to get maximum international coverage.... BN goverment is in the ugly spotlight already! bla, bla, bla, bla...

It seems like "THEY" are adamant on pitting the muslims malays suspicious and distrustful of one another, especially those of special talents.

My mind got fixated on a few names thinking about the first conspiracy ... mus, gani, umi, khayri, exam, radi... and ... maybe they were there or just happened to be thinking about the same thing.

Got to stop before I ramble on...
Ya Rabb! forgive us!

Masjid Kristal Lagiii

During recent school holidays, there were many weddings of relatives and friends children that we attended. Somehow, I still haven't have time to upload the wedding photos.

The trip to Masjid Kristal wasn't planned but just happened as we went from a wedding to next and found ourselves heading there... The muezzin just called the 'azan' - the call to prayer as we arrived at the parking bay....

New academic year will begin tommorow as new intakes will be here to register for their first semester at the university. That means we will get busy once again!

Nostalgia

View all 6 photos...

No rain or shine
No thunder or lightening
my thoughts drifted away
blurry images from the past
emerging
sharpening

The old Qur'an covered with dust
its' jacket already peeling off
I picked

In slow motion
leafing through the pages
full of personal notes of the yesteryears

There was something that I was searching for
in between these pages
not the meanings of life
or guidance that I seek
but a token.

A rose that was presented to me long ago
through a messenger
a mask of intense feeling
so true and so real
but unrequited love
preserved between the pages of the sacred words

May God bless you and your family!
the prayer I offer for thee
after all the years went by
thoughts of you still fleeting by
as I stare into what's left of you
safely tucked away
between the pages of old.

1. PRU12 is long gone but the jitters linger on.

2. The people is grappling with the ripple effects of petrol price hike and seemingly the uncertainty in the nations' politics.

3. The effort to undermine Malaysian stability and solidarity is at full force.

4. The tale spinner is smiling broadly savouring every last drip of nectar from the fruit harvested from years of toil, so he think! God is Great! For He is the Master Creator! House of card doesn't stand tall in the slightest wind!

5. The words from the Prince Regent of Perak, Raja Nazrin Shah rings the chill deep into my bone! I sure hope that all Muslim Malay leaders heed the call to unite as a front to deal with global challenge.

6. So leaders of the nation! Stop keeping company with wolves and attentively listen to every tale spin by them let alone let them do the strategy thinking on your behalf. Seek forgiveness and Allah's guidance before any major decision as a Muslim should. Do not rely 100% on logic of the brain as human is made up of more than just brain matter!

7. So many are being dragged willingly or for a compensation or forcefully by threat to abet in the tale spinner long term plan.

8. Most even are not aware that they are being used. Some even downright being hallucinatory, seeing things that were projected in a halo and suggesting that it is the truth and the whole truth.

9. I urged all Muslim (a call and reminder to my self too!) to bow down to One God, seek forgiveness and ask to be guided aright! May we be shown with certainty in our heart beyond the smoke screen and fog of the truth and May Allah gives us strength to act and be steadfast. AMEEN!

Quote:

Hari Potensi Kemas 2008

Event: Hari Potensi Kemas 2008
Venue: Dewan Al-Muktafi Billah Shah, UDM, Kampus KUSZA
Date: June 19-21, 2008

Khairi and his friends from Tadika Kemas Kampung Beladau Kolam are representing Parlimen Hulu Terengganu at the state level for Nasyid competion for preschoolers after their group became a champion at the District level.

So, we went for moral support this time since I didn't get to go the last time when they compete in Kuala Berang for the district level. Twice we went. Once for the actual competition and second for the closing ceremony. The whole kampung folks with kids involved in the nasyid team packed up the whole family and headed to Dewan Al-Muktafi Billah Shah.

When the announcer announced that their group won a second place, everyone felt relief because none was prepared to accompany their kids at the national level competition which will be held in Kuala Lumpur. At least, they won the first place once already!

Here are some photos captured during the closing ceremony which was officiated by the minister of rural and regional development, YB Senator Tan Sri Dato' Seri Muhammad bin Muhammad Taib.

Jr was left at home in the care of his uncle AyahNik during the night if the competition. However, he came along during the closing ceremony and we had to leave the hall before the minister arrive and spent the rest of the time in Mummy's office which is just next door

We came in just in time for Khairi and his friend to receive their throphy from the minister.

Jr has been anxious thus we decided to out. After the shocking rise of petrol prices, we haven't been out that much. Well, once I took him for a ride around the neighbourhood (>10 km ride) before leaving for office and he was happy! Then, I took him along to the office once and then off to watch airplane take off and we ended up on the beach. Then again, at tok ibu request, we went for a picnic on the beach.... and today.......

Jr insisted on going to the beach but we went to masjid kristal instead. It was raining quite heavily earlier during the afternoon. Thus, the ground was still damp.

I enjoy each and every trip we had so far...

Jr did behave too!
