Giant Mango
|
|
There was a missed call from a colleague who is away on study leave. The next day, i found a plastic bag with 2 mango in it.
Jr was picking both and acting as though ha had lifted such a heavy weight. At 8 months he already managed to pull a 10 kg rice sack when he was still on walking chair
But the mango was huge. The one we weigh was more than 1.7KG. The taste though was less tasty.

Jr on the beach at marghrib time.
|
|
We were at the beach at maghrib time.
Jr wanted to bring along his toy lorry to play in the sand. He had a blast ferrying loads of sand around me. He scooped the sand in front of me into the lorry and moved his lorry around me once and dump it behind me to my right.
The shots I took came out blurry due to low light.
Thus, I decided to edit them.

Turtle Egg for Lunch
|
|
a surprise at lunch today :- turtle eggs
When I was a kid, i gag on it when trying to taste it the first time. Ever since then, I haven't have the gut to gulp one down till today that is...
someone mentioned that one turtle egg is equivalent to 20 chicken egg in calorie count. So today, I had eaten 40 chicken eggs because I ate 2 turtle eggs for lunch
the taste? courser than chicken egg, to the point that I though I was eating some sand.... the egg white somehow is still liquid and slimy...
This delicacy is especially for the SPACE-UTM team that are here for a 2 days program, embedded in this years' soft skill programme.
Last year, the programme lasted for 6 weeks compare to only 2 weeks this time around. The enrollment was mandatory last year to all graduating students but this time around, only those who voluntarily register within the time frame are joining the programme. Thus, we have many eager participants to discuss and present in English language this year. Last year we were the monsters as seen by too many students who ended up in tears and withdrew from the programme because they were afraid of having to speak in English. Everyone must do presentations, in group and individually. And the individual presentation was the killer to those who opted out.

We planned an early birthday party for Jr and had a family picnic at Masjid Terapong Kuala Ibai Public Park.

It was cut short due to rain.
We went to visit the Crystal Mosque in the evening.

After Tokki came back from the masjid and in a rush to go out again for a tahlil, Tokki said some prayer and Jr blew the candles. Then we ate the birthday cake.

The special menu was 'nasi dagang'... How much locals can we be?

Lintah O Lintah!

Masdi brought home a leach he caught from the river.
It was intended for me really, so he claimed.
Supposedly, leach is a trusted way to draw blood from your system, the so called 'dirty blood' especially if one is suffering from skin problems.
Most of us ( especially Min ) who saw it ended up screaming and jumping away from him. It was hilarious for a while.
Then he decided to let the blood sucking creature to suck his own blood at his foot.
I can get close enough to get some photos but Jr seemed excited that he wanted to kiss the slimy creature...... yukkkk!
If you are faint hearted, I apologize before hand for this entry .........

Tok Ibu is finally discharged from HSNZ on Friday evening but she is still weak and ashmatic and completing her medication at home. She still have to go back for CT scan after the appointment is confirmed. It seems there is such a long waiting list because they will only call in to confirm the appointment after two months. HSNZ doesn't have the facilities to conduct broncoscopy test.
